gorgeous gluten-free granola

Homemade granola is wonderful because there is no need for compromise. You can add all your favourite ingredients and avoid the ones you don't like. You will be able to tell from this recipe that we love our seeds and nuts, and prefer to skip the dried fruit. But you can make this recipe your own and use your preferred ingredients.


  • 5 Tbsp coconut oil
  • 2 Tbsp muscovado sugar
  • juice of 1 lemon
  • 2 Tbsp honey
  • 4 Tbsp gluten-free flour (I use doves)
  • 2 C gluten-free oats
  • ½ C desiccated coconut
  • ¼ C sesame seeds
  • ½ C whole hazel nuts
  • ¼ C chopped and roasted hazelnuts
  • ¼ C sliced almonds
  • ½ C pumpkin seeds


  1. Preheat your oven to 110º C (fan) and prep two baking trays with greaseproof paper

  2. To create your coating use a thick based pan and add the oil, sugar, lemon juice and honey. Heat these up gently once the ingredients are all melted take off heat.

  3. Combine all your dry ingredients in a separate bowl. I love the look of this bowl!  

  4. Pour the dry ingredients into the liquid. Mix it up good and proper, so all the dry ingredients are coated. Dump onto baking trays in equal measures, spread the granola out and pop into the oven.

  5. After 30 mins turn everything over so that other parts of your granola can bake! It should bake for another 20-30 minutes on this side. Don’t let it burn!!

  6. Allow to cool on baking trays (try not to pick at it – I find it pretty hard to resist as it's so yummy!) Using the greaseproof sheets pour into your Gorgeous Gluten-Free Granola container. Enjoy!
