These cheeky cheese puffs are one of Aars’ favourite snacks. If he could he would have them as his dinner too – he requested them for tea last week when he had a friend over – they had dairy-free cheese quesadilla’s instead – a fairly good compromise!
At Christmas I tend to keep a box of Jus Roll in the fridge as it’s dairy-free and soya-free and makes baking last minute snacks like these super simple and fast. I am going to be doing a newsletter soon on super speedy snacks and treats for Christmas so if you haven’t already sign up to receive the free2bake newsletter! It’s free and full of yummy recipes – often you get a sneak preview too 🙂
We love these little savoury pastry puff snacks – they are great to make when people drop by unexpectedly, especially at this time of year, when there are sweet-treats a-plenty. They are very more-ish and you can adapt the recipe to make it your own – sometimes we add a sprinkling of cayenne pepper to the cheese if Aars is fancying a bit of a chilli kick.
Last year I took all the ingredients to our extended-family Christmas celebration at my sisters home, along with one of our “safe” baking trays and baking paper. I made these cheeky cheese puffs for everyone to enjoy. The are sooooo easy, sooooo fast and sooooo more-ish everyone scoffed them down!
