mmmmm….cuddle me!

A cosy spiced smoothie may sound like a strange combo of words as we tend to think of smoothies as fresh and fruity… But this special smoothie is created for cold spring evenings when you want to cuddle up, in your cosy, comfy PJs, under your favourite, most snuggly blanket.

This cosy spiced smoothie is a very lovely way to end your day! Even though spring is springing, bluebells creating carpets of blue through our woodlands here in England, the evenings are still cold. I think that chill makes it especially lovely to be home on a Monday evening, snuggled up with my partner, catching up with Masterchef on iPlayer!

Rather than a hot chocolate why not try this cosy spiced smoothie this evening? Thanks to the spices it smells amazing, I grate a load of extra nutmeg over the top of the smoothie so the aroma is extra snoozy! I love cradling it in my favourite jar, savouring the flavour and fragrance as I snuggle up on the sofa.

If you want to add another sleep-aid ingredient try adding a couple of tablespoons of gluten-free oats. They blend in beautifully and add to the creaminess of the smoothie. If you are allergic to peanuts but OK with tree-nuts, replace the peanut btter with a tree-nut btter like almond b*tter, if you’re allergic to all nuts, but OK with sesame seeds try tahini.

Make it your own – focusing on the ingredients and flavours your body favours and let us know how you go.
