These raw healthy snicker chocolate treats are nutritious & delicious, rammed full of wonderful raw ingredients. Free-from dairy, soya & eggs they taste surprisingly like my old fave chocolate bar - the snicker! The soaked dates provide that wonderful sweet caramel flavour and all the peanut b*tter makes them very snicker-y! They don't last long in our home as they are very more-ish.
- ½ C dried dates - stoned & soaked*
- ¼ C peanut b*tter (a.k.a peanut butter)
- 2 Tbs raw cacao powder
- ¼ tsp vanilla extract
- 1 Tbs chia seeds
- 1 Tbs ground flaxseed
- 1 Tbs water
Into your food processor or juicer** bung all the ingredients in the order listed above & blitz until a wonderful dark paste is formed.
Choose an appropriate sized container and line it with cling-film then dump all the mix into it and press it down with the back of a spoon. We sprinkle ours with chopped hazelnuts - but use peanuts if you prefer!
Pop them the container into a sealed bag and then into the freezer for a couple of hours! When you want to serve, remove from the container and use a sharp knife to slice into appropriate chunks of YUM!
*I soak the dates for at least 2 hours before use - it makes them softer and they disappear into the mix perfectly!
**I normally use my wonderful Samson juicer with it's mincing cone - but the raw healthy snicker photographed today were made with my food processor, so you can be confident that you can make them perfectly which ever machine you use.
