I don't like to waste food so when I make my stewed apple, I save the skins and make YUMMY apple skin crisps. This recipe combines two of top flavours - apple and cinnamon.
- apple peelings (mine was from 3 large apples)
- drizzle of oil (sunflower or melted coconut)
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 tsp muscovado sugar
Preheat the oven to 180°C (fan). Prepare a baking tray with baking paper.
In a bowl add your apple peelings, a drizzle of oil, the ground cinnamon and sugar. Mix the lot up so all the peelings are coated then spread your peelings out on your baking tray, ensuring there is no overlapping of peelings otherwise they will come out soggy not crisp.
Pop into your oven for 7 minutes, remove all the crisp peelings onto a plate and turn over any that still look fat and juicy. Stick them back into the oven for 2 minutes. Get out and enjoy!
